In 2006, Mr. Dong had a vision for SUNLIGHT METAL, which in Chinese is “尚轻时代” or “Shang Light Metal Age.” The name was chosen due to the similarity of the word “sun” to “shang,” which means trendy or fashionable in Chinese. Mr. Dong was inspired by the great potential of light metals, such as aluminum and magnesium, and saw an opportunity to promote these materials in a fashionable way, encouraging young people to join the industry and use their energy and spirit to make this world a better place. SUNLIGHT METAL aims to promote innovative technologies in the light metals industry and more and wider use of light metals and their lightweight nature.
