Mr. XiaodongYang  graduated from Northeastern University (China) in 1985. After graduation, Mr. Yang has been engaged in the research, design & engineering of aluminum reduction cells and production process in Shenyang Aluminum Magnesium Design Institute (SAMI). From 1991 to 1993, Mr. Yang was a visiting Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, UK. He has formerly served as SAMI’s Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer of aluminum Smelting at Chinalco.

Mr. Yang once led his team to successfully develop alumina ultra-dense phase transportation technology and related equipment. He organized and led the scientific research team to develop SAMI’s famous “SY” series of aluminum potlines, among which SY350 (350kA) pot technology won the second prize of (China) National Science and Technology Progress Award, SY200 (200kA), SY300 (300kA), SY400 (400kA) and SY600 (600kA) potline technologies respectively won the first prize of scientific and technological progress of China Nonferrous Metals Association. “SY” Aluminum Reduction Cell technology is widely used in many aluminum plants in China, especially in the past few years, SY500 (500kA) potline technology has dominated the new aluminum smelters in China. In addition, “SY” potline technology has also been applied in aluminum smelters in Malaysia, Turkey and other countries.
